About Ellen's Home Day Care

I started my daycare business twenty years ago because I absolutely love being around young children!  I am passionate about providing families with a safe and loving environment for their children to develop and grow.

As a committed early childhood educator, my purpose is to make children feel comfortable, happy, safe, nurtured and loved while in my home.

The children provides me endless opportunities for self-expression of love, understanding, patience, warmth, creativity, fun and simple joy. Taking care of children is hard work, but they truly spice up my life and keep me feeling young at heart.

I am very excited to meet new families and to provide their children with quality care in my home!

Ellen believes that providing a positive and nurturing environment will instill lessons that will last a lifetime!

As an avid practitioner of play/theme based learning, she is always looking for fun activities, games and crafts that will be interesting for infants and toddlers using a lot of materials that is readily available around the house. She also uses Funshine Express buttercups curriculum for arts and crafts designed for ages one to three years old. With a background in Business Administration and long-time business owner, Ellen runs her daycare with a healthy mix of flexibility and the predictable structure that children thrive on.

She likes to spend her free time with her two sons and husband traveling to different places, cooking healthy foods, trying international cuisines and watching movies together as a family.

"Ellen’s Daycare is absolutely amazing! Ellen provides a wholesome, clean, and safe environment for the kids. She is extremely thorough and thoughtful and constantly finds creative ways to engage the kids. We initially had our son in a bigger daycare, and from day 1, it didn’t feel like the right fit. I was SO grateful to have found Ellen’s soon after. From the very start, Ellen kept me informed of what was going on throughout the day, how our son was adjusting, etc., which was so helpful as a first-time mom. Within just a few days, our kiddo was happily going off with Ellen and her staff. Ellen and Jane both take their time with the kiddos, and I saw that countless times with my son, particularly when it came to feeding him solids. Our son comes home happy each day singing songs and telling me about his day. Finding Ellen’s has been a huge blessing. My husband and I feel confident that our son is being cared for and loved. It honestly feels like we’re dropping him off with family."

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value

Couldn't say enough good things about Ellen's home daycare. It's a loving and nurturing place for the little ones to grow. Ellen and her staff are very caring, attentive and responsive. They not only care about the kids, but also the parents being like a family. My son had so much fun and enjoyed Ellen's home day care a lot. I highly recommend Ellen's place for your childcare need if you are in the Acton area, and wish you good luck in finding a spot there.

"Abby’s entry into Ellen’s Home Daycare this past year was a bright spot amid a stressful move and chaotic year. Our daughter has thrived in the few months she’s been there. Hers speech has improved, she’s more outgoing and she’s such a big helper with the little ones. And that is all thanks to Ellen and Jane I am impressed by the level of care and dedication these women provide, and parents get to see it all happen as it unfolds throughout the day! The app lets us see what the children are working on and documents what our child is doing in terms of naps, eating, etc. It’s a great way to communicate and reassures us that our children are having fun while away from home. I’ve gotten to know Ellen over the past few months and appreciate the warm and nurturing person that she is. I will miss her when Abby moves on to preschool in a few months but would highly recommend Ellen’s Home Daycare to anyone looking for the organization of a center with the more personalized attention of an in-home daycare."

"If you're looking for a family oriented daycare then you found the perfect one. Ellen provides a warm, nurturing, and inviting atmosphere. Our daughter, now 2 years and three months old, has been going to Ellen's Daycare since she was nine months old. She is always eager to go to Ellen's in the morning. They do all sorts of fun activities that help with their developmental skills. My daughter knows all her colors and it amazes me she can count to fifteen. Jane, Ellen's assistant, is amazing. You and your child will love them."

“I cannot say enough nice things about Ellen's Home Daycare. My son switched from a larger daycare center to Ellen's when he was 18 months. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION my husband and I ever made moving him to a smaller home daycare. Ellen and her staff are wonderful. They are creative, playful, structured, and most of all LOVING. My daughter, now 6 months, began going to Ellen's with her big brother when she was 4 months old. Ellen took the time to get to know both of my children prior to their first day to make sure the kids new her and she could play with them.   Things I LOVE about Ellen's Home Daycare: The intimate setting of the extended Daycare to their home. Small number of kids. Consistent staff and open communication. As the business owner, Ellen takes immense pride in her daycare.  I think this is an important distinction as she has a vested interest in how it is run, compared with larger daycare that have inconsistent staff. Ellen and staff are incredibly thoughtful and caring individuals. Our children are happy to go there and come home in great spirits.  Ellen also does a great job taking pictures of the kids and doing fun videos along with having monthly themes. For example, August's theme includes the color yellow, obstacle course, Kids Olympics, nature's loose parts play, and as always a shout out to the children who are born that month. She also celebrates the children's birthday's with pizza and cupcakes.  I would highly recommend this daycare. You will not regret it!"-
